![]() Skylum is the one and only program that refuses to run and totally problematic. On perfectly working systems that run no matter what we throw at it, much more than Luminar, barely touching the available resources. We repeatedly tried to work with support which had us reconfiguring, uninstalling, reinstalling, even reinstalling Windows screwing up the workstation which had to restore business machines off backup. Same thing with L4 3 versions later it sort of works. This company did not ever get Luminar AI working on our 12 core workstation and Alienware laptop. No other software we have on our system has been this bad and everything runs perfectly. ![]() The answer came within an hour.We had nothing but troubles and problems with Skylum. I have to say, I'm almost 50 years old younger users might have no problems -) But the Skylum support is just brilliant! Haven't had such a quick and professional support for long. To be honest: some functions are not where I expected them to be. It's so much easier to use than other image editors. As breathtaking are the extensions (wanted them and had to buy them, too -)) 4. ![]() I don't really like abos, so I'm the happiest person, that I could buy the full version at once. You have the choice between buying the software or using it within an abo. I had tried the test version for a couple of minutes and was immediately convinced. I bought Luminar Neo for an absolutely reasonable price. I hope Skylum reads this comments and maybe takes some things to the heart and puts them into practise, if so we maybe will meet again in the future. I really hoped to get away from adobe, but neither Affinity nor Skylum has managed to fully replace Photoshop/Lightroom. ![]() It works, but slowly, good features cost extra, some ads are hugely misleading and to be honest most of us are probably better of with paying adobe the 10 buck per months for the photographer package do get access to photoshop+lightroom. has been so far quite the disappointment. During the beta i actually had a lot of hope, but this software. Its ridiculous if you have 100 images and you apply lets say one filter to all of them, your Computer will become unuseable for at least 30 minutes (or so) because cpu usage will go to 100%. And consider that all of the major AI Libaries (tensorflow, pytorch.) are allowing dev's quite easily to use Cuda Cores and its also worth noting that Photo- and Videoediting Software since many many years do use your gpu. The Software works on a i7 Gen.10 fairly slow, and that i have a RTX 30xx doesnt even matter because it doesnt compute at all on the gpu (there is literally one filter which does use the gpu, wow). For me it feels a bit like i have been duped. Which is fine but then they released almost all of the advertised ai tools as paid extensions for a monthly fee or a one-time-payment but the later would not receive any updates. I bought Luminar Neo before it was released because many of the advertised features where something i was looking for, when the program was released in a beta state many of the features where not there yet. Misleading Ads and immature software (still no cuda support in 2023. As a Photo Editing novice, I am very pleased with my purchase of Luminar Neo. The program is easy to learn and tech assistance is available via the following options: - Tech Support Team via the Skylum, - easy to understand) video "How-To's" available via You Tube, - along with the User Manual (which I highly recommend you download) - ommunity FAQs Additionally, Skylum's/Luminar's Support Team was so responsive re: my pre-sale and post-sale questions, that they just made my overall experience with the product that more justified and satisfying. It is an easy to use program, and there is definitely a learning curve as with any new software application purchase. I did my diligence and via the Internet, looked at all the name brand and independent Photo Editors and I am happy to say I chose Luminar Neo. I am a novice when it comes to photo editing and Luminar Neo just opened a new world to me with regards to improving my photos. Two things compelled me to draft this review: 1) the power and ease of use of the product 2) the customer focus of the Support Team I just purchased Luminar Neo - on 1/16/23.
